Former Governor of Kogi State and the All Nigerian Peoples Party, ANPP, governorship candidate for the April polls, Prince Abubakar Audu has declared that his mission to govern the state is to rescue it and the people from abject poverty created by the misrule of the incumbent PDP administration in the state.
Prince Audu, who spoke through the Director General of his Campaign Organisation, Dino Melaye, while receiving three brand new vehicles donated to it, said the present administration led by Governor Ibrahim Idris has failed to improve the state and the lives of its people.
The vehicles include a Toyota Hilux donated by a member of the House of Representatives and ANPP senatorial candidate for Kogi East Senatorial District, Mr. Atai Aidoko and two buses donated by a philanthropist, Alhaji Musa Isah to support the organisation towards liberating the people.
Melaye, who is also the party’s House of Representatives’ candidate for Kabbnbunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, Kogi State, while taking delivery of the vehicles, said it was total victory for Prince Audu and the entire Kogi State.
He said, “we want to come and correct the rubbish created by the PDP administration in the state. We are out to rescue Kogi state from the economic cankerworm and financial scavenger.
“We want to use this opportunity to call on all Kogites to join this moving train of change and come out en masse to vote out the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the forthcoming elections.”
Noting the current administration has wasted solid years because it lacked focus, direction and zeal to uplift the state from the point that his predecessor has left it, the consequences of which is infrastructural decays and other developmental facilities that eluded state.
He regretted that “one wonders why Kogi State which is endowed with men and women of high integrity and successful academia should be brought so low to its present state by ineptitude leaders.”
