The statement issued by the NFF that the sponsorship bid process would be re-opened and which the NPL’s acting secretary general, Tunji Babalola attested to has prompted an immediate reaction from the NPL stating that Babalola has no authority to speak for the NPL Board.
Two club administrators, Olanrewju Oldeji of Crown FC and Mike Idoko of Sunshine Stars have called for a peaceful resolution of the impasse with Idoko stressing that the clubs will standby only the decision of te NPL Congress on the matter.

In his reaction, Oldeji who is the Overseer of Crown FC of Ogbomosho said the drama is just a power tussle between those who have selfish interests.
“All that is happening is just a power game between the stakeholders of both executives. Well, I want to use this medium to appeal to all the stakeholders to see to the growth of the league.”
“The withdrawal case made by one of the aggrieved parties, shows dependence on some level of power. Due process in actions and aspect of administration is what is killing our football, because if they had followed it to the letter, we would not have been where we are now.”
“I am appealing to our senior stakeholders, like the Minister of Sports to step into the issue with the heart to make the game grow. I want him to come up with a peaceful resolution that will take our football out of this quagmire. I wish our football well all the same,” Oladeji said.
Idoko who is the Executive Director of Sunshine Stars FC of Akure said  that whatever the NPL Congress says on the issue is what they as club administrators will stand by.
“I do not want to be drawn into controversy like this, but all we need to know is that, whatever the Congress says is what has to be done.”
