The campaign organisation of the Action Congress of Nigeria presidential candidate, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has described him as the ‘most internationally acceptable candidate.’
The group, Ribadu Campaign Organisation, in a statement on Sunday in Abuja, said it was reacting to a statement credited to a former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Chief Richard Akinjide.
According to the group, Akinjide was quoted in a national newspaper (not THE PUNCH) as saying that the ACN presidential candidate “should have gone to the House of Representatives or the Senate. He is not a material for a Vice-President. I won’t even make him a governor.”
The group said Akinjide was entitled to his opinion and choice of candidate.
“For Mr. Akinjide to say that he can’t make a holder of a Masters of Law degree, a public prosecutor of many years experience, a man who has attended some of the most prestigious institutions in the world (a candidate) tells a lot about the Ibadan politician.
