Latest : Adamu Aliero demands N3m refund from PDP as he withdraws from race

Former minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Adamu Aliero said he would no longer contest the Kebbi Central Senatorial District race under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.
In a statement in Birnin Kebbi on Monday, he said, “I am no longer interested in contesting the position under the PDP.” The statement was sent to the state branch of the party and signed personally by the former senator.
He demanded a refund of the N3 million he paid to obtain the nomination form from the state chapter of the PDP. “After due consultations with critical stakeholders, and considering the political situation in our dear state, I have decided to withdraw the completed form submitted to your office in October. I will appreciate if you can immediately make refund of my N3 million paid as nomination fee submitted along with the form since I would no longer contest in the PDP primaries,” he said.
The statement was also copied to PDP National Secretariat, INEC and police.
