The 2011 GRAMMY Awards: The African Connection, Red Carpet Photos & Winners

The 2011 GRAMMY Awards took place in Los Angeles on the 13th of February 2011.
The ceremony just ended a few hours ago and GidiGlobe has all the scoop.
Let’s start with the “African Connection“, several African musicians and musicians with African parentage won awards at the 2011 Grammy Awards.

Sade won the award for R&B Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals. Many people do not know that “Sade” is actually a band named after the lead singer who we all know and love – Sade Adu. Members of the band include Sade Adu, Stuart Matthewman, and Paul Spencer Denman and Andrew Hale.
Other winners include Seal for his feature on Herbie Hancock’s “Imagine”, other African artistes on that  song include Congolese band – Konono Nº1 and Oumou Sangaré from Mali

We spotted Nigerian actress/musician, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde on the Grammy Red Carpet. Omotola who is currently in the US for a series of promotional appearances was looking pretty in a black and white dress.
